My wife and I spend a lot of time with our children, Sophia, 5 years old, and Lila, three and a half. Sophia has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1. That, coupled with a hyperactive second born that doesn't sleep well make for some intense days. We are a happy home, and we look forward to seeing our children blossom. My wife and I would be happy to answer any questions about SMA, especially about caring for children with SMA Type 1. For those of you parents with a new diagnosis, we know how tough this can be.The national chapter of FSMA (Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy) is a great resource for newly diagnosed families.
