Next a very late CSX Q-172 is rolling through St. Denis headed EB toward Baltimore. ES44DC 5481 leads, 2nd unit is CW40-8 7362, and the 3rd unit is Ex. Conrail SD60I 8726. 8726 would've been a much more interesting leader rather than the dumb GEVO.

Dec 5, 2008 - Plus I don't know if you guys know, but NS ordered 24 ES44ACs for coal trains,Union Pacific ordered 125 more ES44ACs for 2009,CSX has an order of ES44DCs on order 2009. This is the GEVO update 24/7& 365 days. Hopefully the next CSX ES44DCs they make some improvements to the engines like they did with the newer CSX ES44ACs.

Dec 5, 2008 - Speaking of that now every time I look at an ES44ACs from 840 and above they remind me of SD40-2s. The diffreneces with that is one ES44ACs were made by GE,two ES44ACs are heavier than SD40-2s, and etc...........

Dec 5, 2008 - Has been ever since 1976. I just wish the Dash 7 series and the U-boat series were plentiful and around still. NJT having U34CHs,CSX with C30-7s, Norfolk Southern with C36-7s.
