Oct 15, 2008 - If metric is so backward to the American imperial measurements then why use them on cannon and arms stats?

Minniver Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - Great response, this definately makes me feel uneaasy.

SocialistaTribalista Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - Nevermind your perception of chavez' politics and that of Latin America, lets talk objective facts and logic:The US has a military budget 249.2 times the size of all ALBA member nation, and a military 8 times the size of all ALBA member states and 16.4 times that of Venezuela alone, the US also has an economy over 78 times that of Venezuela and 51.18 times that of ALBA's GDP. And you consider them a threat?

PappyStu Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - No I do not consider him a threat... He is a blow hard, air bag, tin god, dictator just like all the ones that came before him and all those that will come after... His one and only motive is to keep himself were he is at the expense of his people... Who are the real victims...

PappyStu Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - He doesn't have this effect on me.. I'd put an arrow threw him in a heart beat..

PappyStu Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - LOL, good one...

PappyStu Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - Another struting peacock... is what he really is...

PappyStu Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - I liken it more to the Rolling stones line... "...just like the last one..."

TamHickey67 Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - Given the US government's involvement in South America in the past, ie Panama, Guatemala, San Salvador, Grenada and Nicuragua, to name but a few, is it so surprising that Chavez decided to defend his country against possible aggression? I'm sure the US would do the same in his position regarding recent history.

blackturtleus Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - I don't know... after the arbitrary invasion of Iraq I can see how any oil rich nation might be a little leery of the USA. I'm just hoping we make it through the Bush presidency without any further debacles!!! If I were ranking Chavez, Armadinijad, and Bush in terms of evilness, I'd have to say that Bush is the worst of the lot!

amerikarma Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - Bwahahahaha!CHUNKY DOODLE WENT TO TOWN...RIDING IN A PINTOWAGON!

KurtGnu Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - Told you so.. I guess you better go find that sub of yours again!! :) Ha ha ha..

PappyStu Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - All those countries are still independant nations regardless of a despot or two... The Spanish American War in 1898 was the last time the US took permanent territory of significance from any nation... Chavez's agenda is Chavez...

PappyStu Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - To each his own, I could not disagree more, but here in American you and I have this right... Not so in Chavez and Armadinijad's regimes...

PappyStu Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - Freedom reigns...

PappyStu Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - The boats he will buy are useless against our fast attacks but in a country with as many poor as his it is a stupid extravagance....

KurtGnu Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - Yes, I guess he could spend the money in a slightly better way... :)

PappyStu Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - This is true for us too... I don't live in a fish bowl... but IMO in these Despot's cases it is resources much more missed with the numbers of people who need help to help themselves...

kenrg Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - Hey, if Chavez wants to throw his money away on Russian weapons, that's fine. If he's right (that we're secretly planning an invasion), he'll need 'em. If he's wrong (and he probably is), he'll just bring about his own decline and fall that much quicker. Chavez is Castro only in his dreams. Hell, Castro is only Castro in his own dreams and right wing propaganda.

SocialistaTribalista Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - Technically you can call yourself correct, however as for political and economic independance (the right of a soverign people to choose their own economic and political system) has always been in the hands of the US, we werent talking about permanent invasion (conquest) we were talking about the use of Armed Forces or porxy to overthrow the government of a Latin American nation, while full scale invasion has been out of style for a while, the use of payed and trained proxy's is very much alive

MrsDigiot Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - Its his people who realy pay the price for his waste...

SocialistaTribalista Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - A dictator? and I see in your other comments you say he is squandering money, please elaborate.

SocialistaTribalista Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - I thought you said you didnt consider Venezuela a threat? And I really think you should reconsider your view of Chavez as a dictator considering the mass amount of evidence contrary to your point and the sliver of hear-say and propaganda your likely basing your views on.

amsterdam78 Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - ViVa Chavez!!He has every right to secure weapon to protect itself from US invasion.
