Nov 21, 2008 - YouTube is company with a poicy on hate! Not the USA... You and I can burn anything we want. in our ho,es and outside our homes! But can you burn a bible on your job? Yes or No? All Companies have rules! Just like Youtube!
graveyardpc Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - The users of YouTube, not employees, are burning these books. Therefore it's indeed part of free speech, and YouTube's policy does not overpower the Constitution. And anyway YT defines "hate speech" as, "speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion..." etc.Book burning does not meet that criteria in that it's a symbolic opinion mean to show disapproval of a belief, not attack or demean a group. However some videos do both and that's why they're removed.
leboon1653 Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - YouTube called me, and informed me that they will be removing the videos at once! Again, with all do respect please read there (YouTube's Hate Policy)on burning and speaking about another country also!
leboon1653 Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - I guess YouTube don't want 8 million armed Muslims in the US...
graveyardpc Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - Why? Because it's a right of the people to keep and bear arms, or that Muslims are so easily provoked that they risk an armed assault?Think about that statement you just made.
mj4sh Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - So do you mean if tomm people start burning bible and torah or talk absurds things about Prophet Jesus(pbuh) or Prohphet Moses(pbuh) you will sit and watch it happening? You talk about freedom of speech, What happens when someone talks about Mass Murders of Palestinians and condemns the state of Israel by calling it Illegal, why do the american media censors those things and villanize the one who spoke against satanic acts of Israel. What happens to your freedom of speech then?
graveyardpc Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - Removing those videos is actually a violation of free speech, people know this and they will repost them everywhere. It's called the Streisand Effect. You are actually popularizing these videos by removing instances of them and in the end the Internet as a whole will trump any such censorship.
mj4sh Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - @graveyardpc: What happens when someone calls holocaust a myth? Why do you feel bad abt it? Why do you villanize the speaker when he has all the right to deny the holocaust thats his freedom of speech. Why these double standards?
graveyardpc Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - I'm not the American media and I'm for freedom of speech of all kinds. What the American media does by censoring is completely wrong. Censoring is bad in any sense of the word.I will gladly let the KKK preach anything they want in public or in TV interviews, but I will also gladly burn a copy of Mein Kampf under the same right. I'm not a hypocrite.
leboon1653 Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - I think YouTube thinks I'm stupid, with 4 phone calls of apologies from upper management that Muslims are the problems. It's the people that burn our Holy-Qur'an.
graveyardpc Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - They have the right to voice their opinion and denounce the Holocaust. But I also have the right to denounce their claims.Freedom of speech is a two way street.
graveyardpc Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - Wow, you're actually calling YT complaining about videos which offend you?I have nothing to say to that, it just shows your completely lack of understanding when it comes to the Constitution.Sure those videos might violate YT policy in some way, but it speaks loudly of your character to actively pursue their removal as you just finished talking about Constitutional rights. You're obviously taking every avenue to suppress the rights of others when they conflict with your views.
leboon1653 Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - My friend, please understand me! burn all you want. In fact you can come over to my home tomorrow and we will burn together! YouTube told me today that they have fallen off the horse with there policy! They ask me if I would not make no more videos on guns and Muslims with the 2nd Amendment. "They said let the NRA do what they know best"...
graveyardpc Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - If they actually said that, then YouTube's management are a bunch of ignorant assholes. I say make all the videos you want about the 2nd Amendment and Muslims, don't let those idiots stop you.I'm just arguing for free speech. And although I disagree with your opinion that burning a Qur'an isn't freedom of speech, I'm not against you giving that opinion. So please, continue.
leboon1653 Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - It's more than that! Many people have are ready tried to remove my 9 videos on the 2nd Amendment! Muslims and guns here in the states, WOW that is news!!! Because, Muslims are the boggy and bad people! And every one else is fine! So far only 3 videos have been removed, the ones with GUNS shooting the Holy Qur'an. Since your a nice person I'll limit my videos to only Guns! How does that sound???
graveyardpc Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - I'm not asking you to limit anything, I'm just disagreeing with you. It isn't up to me, or YT management, to tell you want to talk about. There are these groups of people who attempt to flag videos until their removed, and you might be a victim of that. If I were you I would start alternate accounts here and on other sites like LiveLeak, and just mirror your videos.
leboon1653 Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - I thought it was weird of YT calling me many times today. Cause they know my video is 100% lawful and I could sue them for what you are advocating for big time!I wish u were on the phone, so u could hear them like kissing my fat ass. Your A very nice person to write with and have a nice debate. I see too many videos of shooting the Quran that really breaks my heart. My wife is a Christian and the same apples to the bible also.
graveyardpc Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - Well, it's been nice talking to you too but I'm going to leave this conversation until later. I want to get back to viewing some other videos. As a side note, I would start recording your YT calls for court evidence. Might come in handy, who knows.
leboon1653 Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - same here, good advice! I didn't think of that!take care and be well!
graveyardpc Says:
Nov 21, 2008 - Burning a Qur'an is no more of an abomination than burning a Christian Bible or American flag, it is indeed freedom of speech and that's why YouTube allows it.You're advocating censorship in response to what YOU perceive as an offensive act. However, in America, you do not have the right to not be offended. So don't watch those videos if you wish not to be.Secondly, burning a book is not a violent act, nor does it imply subsequent violence against anyone. It is symbolic message, that's all.
