Dec 1, 2008 - Gotta love these Detroits...I will be posting a video of a long ride inside a Greyhound-style MCI bus like this, only I don't think it had a Detroit Diesel...Thanks for the vid!!

packerblade Says:

Dec 1, 2008 - thnx, most charter buses are getting the DD series 50 or 60 which don't sound at all like the classic DD's

Dec 1, 2008 - You know I can recall back when I was little and the Riverside County School District was still running those old Crown School Buses with the old 8v92's in them.Man those engines could scream.

Dec 1, 2008 - hey, thnx for watching and commenting boss

Dec 1, 2008 - Hey no problem.Very interesting video you caught.Too bad they don't make those old Detroits anymore.

Dec 1, 2008 - Bus looks too old (MC-9) for an 8V-92. More likely an 8V-71.

packerblade Says:

Dec 1, 2008 - thnx for the comment, that sounds right to me

Dec 1, 2008 - Beautiful!

baul104 Says:

Dec 1, 2008 - This bus does have the Detroit Diesel 8V71N engine with the Allison HT-740 automatic transmission. My city doesn't have that many MCI MC-9 coaches anymore, including the MCI-102A3 coaches.

packerblade Says:

Dec 1, 2008 - wow, you know your stuff

trkr27 Says:

Dec 1, 2008 - sounds like a 6V92 the idle is to slow and low pitch sounding for an 8V71. I rebuilt plenty 6V92Ts in MC9s. that air conditioner is going full tilt. you can hear the fan up by the front tire.

Dec 1, 2008 - thnx for watching, i see what you're saying
