Dana Ward from http://www.GamblersTelevision.com Hello NBA fans from our Rockstar studio this is Dana Ward here with our NBA Quick Hitter for the sports betting public. With Preseason now underway lets take a look at some of the talented rookies entering The Association.Portland fans the wait is overPortland Trailblazer center Greg Oden made his preseason debut this past Tuesday. The Blazer rookie scored 14 points and had 5 boards in just under 20 minutes of action. Oden missed the entire 07-08 season after undergoing knee surgery in September of 2007. The Buffalo, New York native played 1 year of college ball at Ohio St and led the Buckeyes to the 2007 NCAA Championship game. The center was the first pick of the 2007 NBA draft. NBA scouts marvel at Odens potential and see him as a dominating figure on defense in the league. Oden will be officially classified as a rookie this season and will be eligible to compete for rookie of the year honors. Odon is currently among the favorites to win the award for the most outstanding first year player this season and his odds currently sit at plus 300.Bulls Fans have reason to shoutWhy? Because they got the #1 overall pick in the draft this year thats whyPoint guard Derrick Rose is about to make his preseason debut for the Chicago Bulls on Thursday. The Chicago Illinois native was the first overall choice in the draft and will wear #1 as a Chicago Bull. The six foot four inch point guard has been very impressive in training camp. The Chicago Tribune ran a story quoting insiders saying that Rose was a lock to make the starting lineup to start the season. Scouts like his ability to defend and push the ball up court. They are concerned about his jump shooting abilities and how he will handle the pressures and distractions of playing professionally in his hometown. Rose is plus 350 to win Rookie of the Year honors. Will we see more biscuits in the basket this year in South Beach?.Heat Fans can only hope so..The Miami Heat averaged only 91 points per game and was last in scoring in the league last season. With the second pick in this years draft Miami hopes to improve on their offense. The Heat drafted Michael Beasley out of Kansas St. Beasley was the talk of college ball last year as he averaged over 26 points and 12 rebounds per game last season. Beasley scored 16 points on 6 of 11 shooting in 20 minutes against Detroit in his preseason debut. Scouts like his shooting ability and his NBA body. But some have issues with his maturity following misbehavior during NBA rookie orientation during the summer. Oddsmakers have Beasley listed as the plus 150 favorite to be named Rookie of the year this season. That will do it for todays NBA report. Dec 4, 2008 - Notice how just about every great scorer's jump shot was criticized when they were a rookie. Kobe, Wade, Lebron. Yet these guys put up crazy stats nowadays. Critics suck.
