EthanJM Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - It is sharper than it ever has been, but like in the description, after I polished with my diamond stone to get rid of that ugly factory grind, it took hours to get it back with the rods. But now I have a nice shiny edge! By the way, I can't seem to get the tip as sharp, it came like this as well. Does yours also get a steeper grind towards the top?

Dec 3, 2008 - Sharp ! You could give yourself a nasty cut with that thing !

Dec 3, 2008 - I know I could, I try to be careful. I have been in the hospital enough!

Dec 3, 2008 - how did you get your knive so sharp my ka bar usmc is so dual.

EthanJM Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - Practice, if it gets too dull you need to get an arkansas stone or diamond plate, if it just needs touch ups use ceramic rods. Check out my review of my smith's 3 in 1 sharpener, it is a little tutorial of the sharpener that I use. Don't run it through carbides! Alot of people make that mistake, only use carbides when a knife is damaged or extremely dull. In my review I use all three tools.

Dec 3, 2008 - paper cutting is a gimmick! Any decent knife will cut paper. This should be on an infomicial.

EthanJM Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - Care to show me a video of your well used never sharpened knife cleave a paper in half then? No? I thought not.

boxsterwelby Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - Yeah, I have 1 knife that could do that. I don't have multiple knifes! I'm a butcher and I use one knife! 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, before you get all pro on me, talk to people who actually use knives for a living and you'll find they agree with me. A good steal knife is more durable than ceramic. The difference in sharpness is so minute it doesn't matter. But, the longevity of a steal blade makes it more valuable to someone who actually uses knives for a living.

EthanJM Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - When did I ever say anything about ceramic knives dude?A dull knive will never cleave paper in two, it is just not happening. Also, this is a ka-bar, if you have one you should know it is a very thick blade, and it can loose it's keen edge quickly and it is difficult to recover. And don't think I don't know anything about this subject, because I have plenty of experience in sharpening. Kitchen knives are really easy to sharpen, it is a cake walk compared to a ka-bar, it is just their design.

Dec 3, 2008 - Your attitude says it all! You asked me if I ever cut paper with a dull knife....ofcourse not is what you say with a sarcastic tone. How do you know what I cut with? Once again, I use a knife 8 hours a day 6 days a week. Give me some credit. I'm telling you a sharp steal knife gets the job done. You think you're an expert because you use a ka-bar? How about using any of the plethora of knifes that real butchers use? You're an expert on one knife, but I'm an expert on cutting.

EthanJM Says:

Dec 3, 2008 - Dude, how did this argument ever turn into an argument about steal knives? Are you drunk or something? I don't have the attitude, you do. I am sure you know how to cut, never said you didn't, but you claim that any good knife can paper cut, well no duh, that is why I am showing it off. And I have sharpened everything from fighting knives, pocket knives, kitchen knives, machetes, and axes. Even a good knife goes dull, even if it is 1095 high carbon like this ka-bar.
